Highly
recommended in Barbados: a day-long outing on the water, with
opportunities for snorkeling over coral, and in a spot where
snorkelers can see sea turtles.
Our catamaran carried dozens of passengers, but was large enough for everyone to have a place in the sun (or in the shade, if preferred.) The trip included a lunch with fried flying fish, the ubiquitous local specialty.
Our first snorkel stop gave everyone a chance to see beautiful fish over coral. Snorkeling gear is provided. Most kids six and up catch on to snorkeling pretty fast; if you have time, prep your kids first at home -- see Teach a Small Child to Snorkel, at TWKids.

Our second snorkel stop didn't feature colorful fish but was undoubtedly the one kids will remember best because they see giant sea turtles-- which is what everyone is looking for, at the left. |
