See that sand? It's actually quartz crystals. Not only does the sand sparkle, it actually squeaks when you walk on it.  The sugar-white quartz also gives the sea its emerald color.

A number of Sandestin's beaches are "Blue Wave" certified: the seal of approval for clean beaches.
