Cape Codder Resort

By Teresa Plowright, About.com

Cape Codder: background

The Cape Codder Resort and Spa is located on-- take a guess-- Cape Cod: at Hyannis, Massachusetts, to be precise. 95 miles from Boston, 245 miles from New York.

Two-room loft suites have gas fireplace, whirlpool tub, spiral staircase. Two restaurants and a wine bar are on-site.

What's special about the Cape Codder for families?

  • A 8200 sq.ft. indoor water complex has with wave pool (2-foot waves), 80-ft water slide, 50-ft. water slide, waterfalls, fountains, whirlpool, kiddie play area. This doesn't compare in size or scope to the giant indoor waterparks at places like Wisconsin Dells, but will surely be lots of fun.
  • daytime kids programs in summer (volleyball, races, games, etc.) ; bonfires; courtyard movies
  • miles of nearby beaches: the Hyannis web site lists best choices. The Cape Cod National Seashore has a 40-mile stretch of sandy beach, lighthouses, and many "clear, deep, freshwater kettle ponds."
  • the Cape Codder site also lists as nearby activities: golf, whale-watching, boating, and visiting historic sites
  • kids' spa
