Family resort in Miami, Florida : Sonesta Key Biscayne

Right on the doorstep of Miami, a beautiful seaside resort, that welcomes families...

The Sonesta Key Biscayne is one of 20-odd Sonesta resorts worldwide. Sonesta is family-run company, and families are made welcome in several Miami-area resorts, plus Bermuda, Tuscany and even Peru.

Key Biscayne...

...is only minutes from Miami: a 7-mile long quiet island, joined to the city by a pleasant causeway.

Since Europeans landed in 1497, Key Biscayne has seen pirates, native uprisings, and a plantation with 4000 coconut palms. Nowadays Key Biscayne has upscale shopping areas and elite condominiums.

The area has white sand beaches, golf courses, pine trees and palms, marinas; a 960-acre park is a half-hour walk along the beach from the Sonesta Key Biscayne.

The Sonesta Key Biscayne Resort - for families

For family travelers, the best features about the Sonesta are the white sand beach, the Olympic-size pool (above), easy access to fun activities in Miami, and the welcoming attitude to children including what is possibly the country's oldest kids' program.

Shade is available under palapas at the beach; and generally there's a feeling of safety as older kids move around the grounds. The kids' program includes outings to Miami attractions, beach volleyball, sand castle contests, etc., evening activities too.

Small touches make little people feel special: welcome treats presented in beach buckets, or perhaps big cookies on plates that double as frisbees. Room service has some great kids items-- served to perfection!
