Apple Vacations is a well-established company with departures from dozens of US cities. Families will find packages at virtually all the popular all-inclusives in Mexico and the Caribbean. Hawaii is also a specialty (but all-inclusive resorts aren't in the scene.) Trips to Europe and ski getaways are offered too.
The welcome page at the Apple Vacations site always shows promotions, that change every few weeks.
The key point about finding deals at the site is that, typically, you'll first need to choose a departure city, select a month, and see what's offered on the Specials page.
Some parts of the site -- for ski vacations, for instance-- may require that you select specific travel dates before you can check pricing.
It may help your bargain-hunting to check the schedule of flights offered by Apple Vacations from different departure cities.
Hotel Only
Apple Vacations are priced with airfares, but "Apple Vacations offers low-priced hotel-only packages to all of our destinations." The trick is to select "Hotel Only" when pricing.
- To find out about kids' programs at a particular resort: click on the resort name at the Apple Vacations site, then select "Dining and Entertainment" for info about kids' clubs, playgrounds, teen disco, babysitter fees, etc. (Or check profiles of many beach resorts at Travel With Kids.)
- "Value Plus" Kids Stay, Play and/or Eat Free deals may be offered at individual resorts (see below)
- note that even if "Kids Stay, Play and Eat Free", kids will still pay regular airfare
In addition to the front-page Specials at the Apple vacations web site that change every few weeks, many individual resorts have a "Value Plus" bonus, giving guests a goodie such as free room upgrade, scuba, golf, or "Kids play, stay & eat free."
For example: a "Value Plus" for the Atlantis Resort might say that kids 11 and under stay free. And you may often find, at an all-inclusive, that "Kids 12 & under stay, play & eat FREE (max. 2 kids per room)."
(Sometimes these "Value Plus" perks are offered by the resort itself, and not just through Apple Vacations.)
Vacationkids.com specializes in family getaways, and often features Apple Vacations that especially suit families.
