Even if a deal has expired, it may repeat seasonally next year.

  • Maui, Westin Kaanapali:
    "Family Splash" package for 2006 offers breakfast buffet for two adults and two kids, in-room milk and cookies, lei greetings, and a 2-for-1 rate at the Westin Discovery Center kids camp. Rates start are $449/night, and extend from Jan. 8 through Dec. 22 2006. The Westin also has a "Kids Eat Free" program: kids under 12 eat free on the Ono Bar & Grill with a paying adult.

    Kapalua Resort, Maui
    This giant resort community has 23,000 acres, three golf courses, some premier hotels including a Ritz-Carlton, and a villa rental program. A Week in Paradise promotion lasts through Dec. 19 2006, and includes rental car, pineapple plantation tour, and complimentary shuttle around the resort. Watch for a return of a promotion for February Whale Quest, which celebrates the migration of humpback whales.

  • ResortQuest Hawaii: Kids Stay, Play, Eat Free
    ResortQuest Hawaii-- formerly Aston Hotels & Resorts Hawaii-- has 27 hotels and all-suite condominium resorts on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. Like Aston before it, ResortQuest Hawaii has a long-lasting Kids Stay, Play and Eat Free deal: kids 17 and under stay free; kids 12 and under get free admission to island attractions (such as the Waikiki Aquarium or Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park) with a paying adult; and kids 12 and under get free meals at a range of restaurants, with a paying adult. Lots of other promotions too: internet-only rates, packages with airfare, 5th night free...

  • Hawaii: Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, Maui
    The Ka'anapali was voted by Conde Nast as "#1 Resort for Value in Hawaii", and was also a top pick by FamilyFun Magazine; this resort aims at a good price point, and its free "Aloha Passport" program has many fun activities for kids. You'll always find a promotion going on: internet specials; Mother's Day getaways through May... Kids under 17 stay free in parents' room, and kids under five can eat at the resort's restaurants free of charge.
  • Maui Condo Resort
    Family friendly Napili Kai Beach Resort -- with kids' club, suites, snorkeling, and many activities-- has "5th Night Free" and packages continuing until Dec. 19 2006. Watch for a return of a Whale Watcher's Special for travel in March. (Note: kids' club for ages 6 to 10 is seasonal, during Easter/Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas and summer (mid – June to late August.)
  • Hawaii: Kona Village Resort - Family Rate
    This luxury resort is a rarity in Hawaii, in that it's essentially got an all-inclusive price. Rates include breakfast, lunch, dinner for two, Friday lu'au, box lunches, daily scheduled activities, snorkel equipment, kayaks, sailboats, boogie boards, daily glass bottom boat excursions, arts and crafts, kids program for ages six and up, (but not during two "romance months"). Family rates for a two-room "hale" start at $875/night for triple occupancy (plus tax and gratuities.) Alternatively, a family could book a smaller unit-- read more above.
  • Turtle Bay Resort
    On the beautiful north coast of Oahu, Turtle Bay Resort has 880 acres, file miles of beach, five different bays, pool with waterfall and slide, on-site snorkeling, horseriding, surf lessons... Turtle Bay has several packages that can be booked online, including Bed and Breakfast, and 6th Night Free, and typically a Family Adventure Package such as "Family Adventure with a Mini-Van": oceanfront lodgings, daily breakfast for two adults and two kids, one children's activity for each child during their stay, and a minivan to be picked up and returned at the airport.
