My personal favorite of the four WDW theme parks, Disney's Animal Kingdom opened in 1998 and attractions have been added since, including Expedition Everest new roller coaster with terrific Himalayan theming.

With 500 acres, Disney's Animal Kingdom is five times the size of the Magic Kingdom. Much of this acreage is taken up by the vast Kilimanjaro Safari attraction -- which recreates an African wildlife safari-- and other areas for wildlife habitat.

Zoos, thankfully, have changed greatly in the last decade and Disney-- with its deep pockets-- has created some large and beautiful "natural habitats" for its animals. The gorillas, for example, have acres to play in.

Note: Disney's Animal Kingdom closes early! Often, the closing time is 5 p.m. You can extend the fun by having dinner at the wildly-themed and fun-food Rainforest Cafe.
