As with Disneyland and Walt Disney World, online resources for planning these two international Disneyland vacations come in two basic flavors.
First, the official Disney web sites provide extensive information on park events, hours, passes, accommodations, and of course attractions. In addition, you can also find info, photos, and many useful tips at the surprisingly professional "unofficial" websites created by dedicated fans of the parks.
Paris Disneyland (Euro Disney)
Also known as Euro Disney, this Disneyland got off to a slow start in 1990, and certain critics looked down their noses at the appearance of Mickey in a country of haute culture like France. However, a few years later Mickey's had the last laugh and Euro-Disney is a top tourist destination.
The Disneyland Paris Resort complex includes:
- theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park)
- Disney Village (entertainment, restaurants, etc.)
- seven themed hotels
- Golf Disneyland
(Adventurous family travelers might want to try another theme park very near Paris: Parc Asterix is a great outing, based on the Asterix comics hugely popular in Europe for decades.
For those heading to Euro Disney:
- the official Disneyland Paris site includes visitors' information such as Discover The Park, Where To Stay, Disney Village (entertainment, restaurants, etc.), and more-- and is available in half a dozen languages.
Check this site for specials and promotions.
-
About's guide for France for Visitors gives you the basics you need before visiting Disneyland Paris: Getting There, park hours, ticket info, etc.
-
Disneyland Paris Internet Guidebook is an example of a professional-quality "unofficial" site created by a Disney fan. You'll find Tips and Info, News and Rumours, photos, coverage of hotels, restaurants, parades-- in both English and German.
Tokyo Disneyland
Tokyo Disneyland is a popular and high volume theme park, opened in 1983, and built by the famed Walt Disney Imagineering in the style of the original Disneyland in California. (However, Tokyo Disneyland is the only Disney park not owned by the Walt Disney Company. and the Magic Kingdom in Florida.)
Tokyo Disneyland has seven themed areas, including the classic four "lands" from Disneyland California's Magic Kingdom: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Westernland (called Frontierland in California), and Critter Country and Mickey's Toon Town, also familiar from Disneyland California.Tokyo Disneyland also has a sister theme park, Tokyo DisneySea, and several hotels. A monorail moves people around the Resort.
The official web site for Tokyo Disneyland includes park information, a guide, tips, and lots more.
Turning to the "unofficial" websites, try Chris's Tokyo Disneyland Resort Fan Site which includes info, photos, tips.
