Summer Vacation: Legoland

Tuesday May 24, 2005
Legoland California, near Carlsbad, is a theme park designed for 2 to 12 year olds, with fun rides and shows, plus creations made out of millions of Lego blocks. This summer has a medieval theme: with 2nd Annual Knights & Damsels Mini-Renaissance Faire; a new "robotic coaster", Knight's Tournment; Knight's Feast Buffet; and "Spark in the Knight" fireworks. continued below...

Kids are natural medievalists: they love castles, knights, fair ladies, jousts... and in Summer 2005, LEGOLAND California has several ways for kids to time-warp back to the days of old.

Medieval Summer at Legoland

2nd Annual Knights & Damsels Mini-Renaissance Faire

From June 11 to 26, 2005, kids can dress in medieval garb, feast on different food, hear music and storytelling, watch The Village Blacksmith, and participate in the Knights' Quest (-complete four challenges, and get knighted by the King.)

New Coaster: Knight's Tournament

New in 2005: a unique "robotic coaster". Become a knight in training to tame the dragon of the Knights’ Kingdom. This new ride has some twists and turns: for example, once you cross a medieval moat, you're in charge of your own adventure as you select the intensity of your experience. The experience itself is aboard one of six gigantic robotic arms that carry passengers. (Height requirement is 40" with an adult, 55" to ride alone.)

Knights’ Feast Buffet

from July 1-August 20, 2005, Knights’ Feast All-You-Care-to-Eat Buffet offers slow roasted meats, roasted potatoes, fresh salads and delicious desserts. $15.95 for adults, $6.95 for children ages 3 to 12. (Kids have their own menu.)

Summer Fireworks: "A Spark in the Knight”

The Knight theme continues right into the night sky. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from July 1-August 31, 2005, fireworks are orchestrated to a musical soundtrack that tells a tale of knightly chivalry.
