Now's the time of year that many families are soon to head to Hawaii for spring break...
Ka'anapali Beach, on Maui, is one of Hawaii's great beaches for vacationing families, with a huge sweep of sand, and waves just the right size for playing in, and a snorkeling area at one end. The Kaanapali Beach Hotel has a prime location here and many families return year after year to this mid-sized resort, which prides itself on being Maui's "most Hawaiian resort" and offers free Hawaiian cultural activities.

I would also think of adding the Kahala Resort. Their dolphin swim program is fabulous, their beach is great for swimming, and they are super kid friendly.
I know the oceanfront hotels in Myrtle Beach look at the Atlantic instead of the Pacific, and I love Hawaii but I doubt I’ll ever get there – plus, there isn’t winter in Hawaii (unless you climb a mountain). I can go to Myrtle Beach in March or April and still have mid-seventies weather! (Maybe next year I’ll get to Hawaii)!
