February is a chocolate-y month in "Chocolatetown USA", and not just for Valentines: "Chocolate-Covered February" has plenty of kid-friendly fun.
Hershey PA is the town named for chocolate magnate Milton Hershey: 3 hours from NYC, 2 from Phillie; the big draw is HersheyPark theme park, with coasters and other rides. HersheyPark's not open in winter, but families still enjoy the classic Hotel Hershey (with kids club, and chocolate-themed spa), Hershey Lodge, and Hershey's Chocolate World.
