Many destinations these days offer family-friendly New Year's Eve events. Panama City Beach, for instance, has a giant "Beach Ball Drop"; in Hershey PA, a crowd counts down as a giant Hershey Kiss gets raised.

First Nights are designed to be family-friendly and affordable.
