Yellowstone is a winter destination too: and what better way to see this amazing National Park than on a small-group tour with with your own private naturalist? The Yellowstone Association Institute runs a number of "Lodging and Learning" programs year-round, and families with kids age 12 and up can participate in several winter trips. You'll stay at a great place such as the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel right in the park, and enjoy many fun activities such as wildlife tracking, snowshoeing, and learning to cross-country ski. These programs are well-priced compared to typical family adventures and offer a terrific way to have fun at Yellowstone and learn lots too. Lodging & Learning Packages in 2012 include Winter Wildlife Expedition, Yellowstone on Skis, Winter Wolf Discovery, and Old Faithful Winter Expedition.
