Is Your Vacation a Real (Offline) Getaway?

"Vacation", the dictionary tells us, is a "time of respite from something", a "period spent away from home or business in travel or recreation".

However, thanks to smartphones, tablets, social media, texting, etc., getting away to a destination does not necessarily mean any break at all from either work or home or a busy personal life. Vacationers may have to actively take a decision to limit their cyber-connections, if they want to truly get a break in body, mind and spirit, and leave it all behind.

As for families -- it's all too easy for family members to be physically present but mentally in cyber-space, either at work, or with friends on Facebook. Yet many parents would say that the whole goal of the vacation is to have some quality together time.

So what's your approach?Take this quick poll...
