I was sorry to learn that two family-friendly and value-priced Caribbean resorts are closing: Breezes Trelawny in Jamaica and Breezes Curacao. I've visited both and they were great... Breezes Trelawny was a fun and busy place, with waterslide, trapeze that my sons tried, minigolf... Also kids programs and infant care. The resort will be rebranded and hopefully will be family-friendly and well-priced still.
Breezes Curacao, meanwhile, has a superb spot with a long beach sheltered by a breakwater, and scuba dives right from the dock. Activities include trapeze and lessons in papiamentu (local language), and a free shuttle takes guests to the fascinating Dutch Caribbean town of Willemstad. This resort will become the all-inclusive Princess Beach Resort and Casino, Curacao: hopefully it will reopen soon, and reports will be good!
