New Year's Resolution?

It's that time when we promise ourselves to do better: better at lifestyle, work-style, working out, eating well, spending, saving, or parenting... And how about better at family vacations?

There's been an unfortunate trend, lately: the getaways that aren't.

Aren't real getaways, that is, because the cell-phone/Blackberry/iPhone/laptop come on the trip too, and keep parents connected to work and to regular life.

Nothing takes the bounce out of a child faster than a cell phone call that pulls a parent a thousand miles away. So if you're on a much-needed vacation and want quality time with your kids, how about: "Just Saying No" to Wireless, for a while?
