Holiday Season at Universal Orlando Theme Parks
And to start off the season: the Mannheim Steamroller group --which has sold more than 30 million albums-- sings Christmas music in two live concerts. Mannheim Steamroller's two concerts take place in the Universal Studios Florida theme park, on Saturday, December 6. The Grammy Award-winning group will play songs created for the holiday show "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," plus new music from a recent album. Founder Chip Davis will join the group. The concerts happen at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the New York area of Universal Studios Florida, and -- great deal!-- are included in park admission.
(A "mannheim", by the way, is an 18th-century German musical technique.)
The live stage show "Grinchmas" features an original musical score by Mannheim Steamroller. The show has six songs, performed by the Grinch and the Whoville Who's. Theme park guests get a chance to meet the Grinch, as well.
Grinchmas and the Macy's Holiday Parade run from December 6 2008 through January 1 2009, as do other Holiday Season events at Universal Orlando, such as nightly Christmas tree lighting, and holiday shows including The Blues Brothers, Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone and Barney.
