Family Travel - Europe

Tuesday July 1, 2008
Lately I've been tying myself up in knots, booking a complicated budget trip to Europe: using up airmiles for transatlantic tickets, renting a Kangoo (my favorite vehicle), booking budget lodgings, and -- just to spend a little more quality time at the computer at 2 a.m.-- booking discount flights within Europe too.

This is Europe, too: at Eurocamp
It is a lot of work; but worth it, when we have a great trip. Budget travel is a respectable way to travel in Europe, and very do-able for families if you're open to different options (such as bungalows in a Eurocamp "family holiday park", or "hay hotels" in Germany, or private family rooms in hostels, or quaint 2-star hotels in Paris.)

Of course it's also nice not to wrestle with logistics: and if you do a "family adventure" in Europe, all details will be handled, from lodging to private tour guides to fast-track admission to the Sistine Chapel... There are many family adventure choices in Europe, but I'm fondly remembering a Viva Italia! trip, by Adventures by Disney, that showcased Rome, Venice, and Tuscany.

The point is: if you're dreaming of a Eurotrip with your family, but are daunted by either/or the costs or the logistics -- it can be done! Have a look at some Family Europe Trips.
