Family Holidays: Nemacolin Woodlands

Families flock to this giant resort, especially for holiday weekends. Thanksgiving, for instance, brings not only the traditional feast but also Light Up Night Festivities with hot choc, and appearances by Santa and gang.

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa has 2800 wooded acres in southwest Pennsylvania. Lodgings include Chateau LaFayette, The Lodge (right), townhouses, and a boutique hotel. An Adventure Center has climbing wall, rock-climbing, zip line, biking, kayaking, paintball, archery; there's an Equestrian Center too, and -- in winter-- the Mystic Mountain downhill ski area.
