Just re-opened in the Riviera Maya (south of Cancun), after damage from Hurricane Wilma: thatched-roof bungalows in large tropical grounds; kids can see crocs, turtles, flamingos, monkeys...

Take an (included) Jungle and Mangrove Tour or Kayak Tour; explore a fresh water river that runs from an underground cave to acoral reef. Not the place, if you want nightlife; but sounds great for nature-lovers.

Meanwhile -- beyond the resort-- the Riviera Maya has much to explore: Mayan ruins, snorkeling lagoons, coral reef, and eco-theme parks such as Xcaret.
