Family Vacation Idea: Adventures by Disney

Saturday April 1, 2006
Mickey's been busy: not only is he sending a cruise ship to the Mediterranean (see below), he's also jumping into Family Adventures.

"Family Adventures" are a lovely niche in the travel world: small escorted groups sally forth to the Great Outdoors, with multi-sports and private naturalists; or perhaps to France or Tuscany... All details handled; fine food and lodging; well-polished itineraries.

Disney tested two trips in 2005, and is roaring into 2006 with seven itineraries: two in Hawaii; “Land of the Eternal Knights” in London and Paris; “Quest for the West”, in Wyoming Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park; “Path to Pura Vida”, in Costa Rica; “Magic of the Mountains” the Canadian Rockies; and “Viva Italia” in Rome, Venice, and Tuscany.

Price is high, but that's the name of the game with "effortless adventures", where all details and hassles are handled, and guests simply let the good times roll out.
