Holiday Gifts for Traveling Kids

Wednesday November 23, 2005
It's that time of year: for gift-buying, and for holiday getaways. So why not buy gifts that can travel with the family? (And maybe make getting-there-and-back easier.)

Baby Toys: play cubes, singing books... even a travel potty.

"Stuffies" and Plush Animals: great travel companions.

Handheld Games: Leapfrog Leapster: popular animated characters, such as SpongeBob, but with a twist-- it's educational.

Christmas Movies and Books: a special book can be enjoyed wherever you spend the big night (especially in the tropics, so far from snow.) Meanwhile, DVD's are now completely portable.

Klutz Activity Kits: ultra-creative hands-on "books" crammed with neat stuff.

NAMiTS The Game of Think: developed by a mom of seven; compact and low-cost; new editions keep the fun ongoing.

For Teens: iPod: these slick little MP3 Players stuffed many stockings last year and are still a hot item, although of course there's Something New: the Apple iPod Video.
