Orlando - Kids' Eats

This information has been provided by Orlandoinfo.com

  • Café Tu Tu Tango: entertainment (dancers and artists); large selection of tapas, or appetizer-sized tastes; Cajun egg rolls, breads, spreads and dips, soups and unusual desserts.
  • Sweet Tomatoes: buffet has endless pizza, pasta, soups, salad fixings, fruit and self-serve frozen yogurt and ice cream with candied toppings
  • Rainforest Café: jungle-themed and lots of fun. Waterfalls, thunder shows, noisy robotic lions, gorillas, chirping birds. Lots of good meal choices for families.
  • Johnny Rockets chain: burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes, and servers who dance to Motown on the jukebox.
  • Hot Dog Heaven: dogs in all styles
  • World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's & PlayPlace: on Sand Lake Road; typical Mc'Donald's fare plus bistro gourmet items
  • Ming Court Wok & Grille: dinners for kids 10 and under are served in a Bento Box with shrimp chips, rice or fries, veggie lo-mein noodles and a fortune cookie
  • El Potro Mexican Restaurant: buffet with fix-your-own taco and burrito ingredients, plus fish, chicken and desserts that include flan and sweet tres leches cake.
  • Straub’s Fine Seafood: caters to kids with a four-course meal that starts with carrot and celery appetizer with ranch dressing. Next, kids can have a cheese quesadilla; kids' entrees include fish, shrimp, chicken or pasta; and ice cream with sauce completes the meal. The early-bird menu, served before 6 p.m., is a great option for older children.
  • Boston Lobster Feast: kids under four eat free off the kids’ menu, at and kids 11 and under get a reduced price on the feast of lobster, snow crab, fried shrimp and more
  • Joe’s Crab Shack: several locations; outdoor playground is as appealing as the kid-friendly food.
A favorite local excursion for family breakfast or brunch is a visit to DeLeon Springs State Park and its Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill & Griddle House. Kidsflip their own pancakes on a built-in table griddle, adding bananas, chocolate chips and other treats to the flapjacks.

Budget-minded families can call ahead to check “kids eat free” specials at several restaurants. Roadhouse Grill and Gator’s Dockside multiple locations has a free child’s meal with each adult meal purchased on Tuesday evenings. Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant offers the same deal on Monday evenings. Boston Market charges only 99 cents per child’s meal with each paying adult throughout the week.
