Beaches Negril - New Waterpark
Beaches Negril Resort & Spa - New Waterpark
(for other Beaches news, scroll down the page)
Beaches Negril-- on Negril's 7-mile beach, on Jamaica's west coast -- is a popular all-inclusive designed especially for families: Beaches is the family resort brand of the Sandals chain. Beaches Negril has a nursery and a set of kids programs that includes ice cream parties, reggae dancing, and boat cruises for teens.. Watersports includes snorkeling outings, and ages 12 and up can learn scuba.
New: Pirates Island Waterpark
Like the pirate-ship water-play zone at Beaches Turks & Caicos, the new 18,000 square foot waterpark at Beaches Negril is pirate-themed. Kids can zoom down 200-ft. spiral tunnels, or play on an "interactive" splash deck with water cannons etc.; there's a 392-ft. lazy river, too.
The waterpark will have two slides, one topless, and one a tunnel. Both end up in the Plunge Pool below. In the center of the park is a Misting Pool; there is also a Misting Deck, pool, and whirlpool.
The Waterpark takes ages three years and up, and will have three lifeguards. The pools are shallow and non-swimmers can use a buoy to keep afloat.
Target date to open is the second week in June.
Also new at Beaches Negril...
Beaches Negril is also getting a new game zone, a new spa, and a new name. The resort, which opened 5 years ago on Negril's seven-mile beach, now adds "Spa" to its moniker. The Signature Spa opened February 1st, 2004 with 4,000 sq. ft. in which to pamper guests with massages, body and facial treatments, and hydrotherapy.
Also due to open at Beaches Negril is an Xbox Game Oasis Center with the latest games.
