All-inclusive Ski Vacation

Wednesday October 22, 2003
Sadly, winter 2005-2006 was the last season for Club Med Crested Butte. This unique resort will be much missed! If you're curious, read a detailed review at Travel With Kids...

If you like all-inclusives AND snow vacations, here's where it's at: Club Med's Crested Butte, 120 miles from Denver, with kids' programs, ski school and snowboard school, 85 slopes.

Club Med Crested Butte Ski Resort

Club Med -- a pioneer in all-inclusives-- has taken the concept to the snowy slopes. These are welcome words for parents: "From the moment you ski in to the day you ski out, every meal, lift ticket, ski lesson and run down our 85 slopes is included." Kids programs are included, too. Even better, you might find a sale price for Crested Butte: such as 3-night as from $576, 7 nights from $1204.

As Club Med modestly puts it: "The resort is head and shoulders above its competitors, partially because it has none."

Here are some of the features at Crested Butte:

• ski in-ski out village
• special kids' programs, with Mini-Club for 4-10 years, Junior Club for ages 11-14.
• Club Med evening entertainment
• full-day ski school: downhil skiing for all levels, from age 4 and up; snowboarding for age 6 and up.
• free shuttle service to historic town
• swimming pool, sauna; videogames (extra charge)
• excursions are available at an extra charge: snowmobiling, dogsledding, horseback riding, sleigh-ride dinners, more.
• Mardi Gras dress-up parties, certain weeks Feb.-March

Club Med has some unique features that work very well at family resorts; also single parent travelers will enjoy the table-of-eight seating and friendly ambiance.

Club Med sold Crested Butte, so there isn’t another all inclusive kid friendly ski place anywhere in the USA

Thanks for commenting. This is an old blog — Oct. 2003. Last year I visited Club Med Crested Butte and wrote a rave review; I was so disappointed to learn that the resort wouldn’t reopen this year.

I didn’t update this old blog — thanks for catching it.
