New York, New York
Thursday September 11, 2003
It's that day, we all remember in our different ways. I had a memorable visit to NYC in April with my 13-year-old, and while we did many fun things-- (see article) we also made a pilgrimage to Ground Zero, where the giant "America's Heart" mural now overlooks a construction scene. We visited The Sphere, the sculpture honoring world peace, that amazingly survived the WTC disaster. And we came upon this statue, A FireFighter's Prayer, on 8th Ave: the statue was in Kennedy Airport on 9/11 en route to a group of Missouri firefighters, who immediately donated it to New York.
